World Sleep Day

Snoring has emerged as one of the commonest causes of couples opting for separate bedrooms or filing for divorce in western countries.

However, few are aware that in many cases Obstructive Sleep Aponea (OSA) wherein snoring is accompanied with breathlessness for few moments during sleep is life threatening, causing heart or respiratory failure, irregular heart beating and increased resistance to insulin. The condition can be easily cured; saving a dear one’s life by timely medical help.

On the concluding day of two-day seminar (CME) and Workshop held by Department of ENT & Head Neck Surgery of Amandeep Hospital, Amritsar to mark the “World Sleep day”, as many as four ‘Live Surgeries’ were conducted to rectify the sleep disorder of OSA.
