STROKE RISK LOWER AMONG WOMEN WHO DRINK MODERATELY: STUDY

Women who drink up to seven glasses of wine or beer a week are slightly less likely to suffer a stroke than those who steer clear of alcohol, according to a U.S. study that covered thousands of women for nearly 30 years.

The results, published in the journal Stroke, fall in line with guidelines from the American Heart Association that recommend women have no more than one drink a day -- but that doesn`t mean people should take up drinking to stave off strokes, researchers said. "We do not encourage women who do not currently drink to initiate drinking," said Monik Jimenez, a researcher at Brigham and Women`s Hospital in Boston, who led the study.

Burnout Signs that you are Ignoring

Surprisingly, not many people are aware that they are burnout from their work. Most of them know that they are stressed, but stress and burnout are not necessarily the same. Stress is the beginning stage of physical, emotional, and mental fatigue while burnout is the more severe side of stress caused by being in such state in extended period of time.

To be stressed is normal and expected especially if you make a living trading stocks or flipping burgers in a fast-paced restaurant. But it can propel you to action and can even give you a bolt of creativity and productivity from time to time, but to be “burnout,” yields a different story.

Do you......dread going to work because you’ve somehow lost your motivation and sense of purpose in your job?

You may be physically doing you work but because you don’t feel inspired to work anymore, your work results become sloppy. You don’t produce as much as you used to and may have become inefficient. Every action from you needs a lot of pull simply because your heart is burnout.

...procrastinate and would do other tasks first?

If you are burnout, you may be delaying to get your work started. You begin to rationalize that you need to do this task or this thing first before you can start your main responsibility.

...find focusing becoming increasingly – hey, that’s cool! - more difficult?

You surf, talk about gossip with your colleagues, eat (even when you’re not hungry), or sing while you are in the middle of your task.

10 Things You Should Never Say to Your Boss

Saying the wrong thing to your boss can really damage your career. From refusing to work with acolleague to bragging about your irreplaceability, here are 10 things you never want to say to yourmanager:
1. "Can you write that down for me?" When you're talking about the details of a project, writing notes to consult later is great. But you need to take them yourself, not ask your boss to do it for you.
2. "I just booked plane tickets for next month." Never book time off without clearing it with your boss. There might be a major project due that week, or she might have approved others to have that time off and therefore need you around. Check with her first before you do anything irreversible.

Who do I Want my Child to be

Come out of the daily grind of parenting and look at the larger picture.
